Look, Mom and Dad! I'm a Counsellor!

Hey everyone! I had a second interview at Central College this afternoon and was offered the position as the student counsellor there! They also want me to do some workshops for their students and staff about basic mental health things--basically doing some of the group teachings I did at the hospital, like how nutrition and sleep can affect moods and some signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression. I've really missed the mental health side of things since I've been here because it's not addressed AT ALL in this counselling course, so I was really happy to agree to do some of that here.
But wait, wait...there's more. They're even going to reimburse my travel expenses! That's right, that £2.20 a day on the subway won't eat into my budget. Ha!

Anyway, that's my exciting news. So, I didn't accomplish all of my goals, but this was definitely the most important one, and it's taken care of, and taken care of beautifully. It's going to be really convenient for me, too, because Central College is about a 15-minute walk from my supervisor's office. Honestly, this couldn't have worked out better. (Mom and Dad, I can practically hear you saying, "Boy, you live a charmed life, don't you?" And yes, apparently I do.)

In addition to that news, I have just taken out a 'learning Italian'-type CD from the library, and will be increasing my very, very-limited grasp on the language in preparation for our trip to Florence. I am really excited!

Well, it's back to class for me tomorrow, and I'm actually really happy to be getting back into the swing of things. I kind of miss my classmates, oddly enough!

I hope you all are having a good week!
Miss and love you all.
