You Jammy Duck!

The other day, waiting in line for lunch, one of my classmates called me a "jammy bitch". I was mildly suspicious that he was insulting me until he explained that 'jammy' means 'lucky'. Now, it feels like a delightful compliment. Oh, the 'bitch' part was affectionate.

Anyway, it's been a good week over here. My counselling is going pretty well. People keep coming back, and the guy I've been seeing the longest seems to really be getting something out of it, so...what more can I really ask for?

I received some custom-knitted slippers in the mail the other day, compliments of Alison! I'm wearing them now. Thanks again!

So, here's what's what. Mary arrives in...are you ready for it...5 DAYS!!! I can't wait! I have really missed just hanging out with her. So, I'm sure we'll do some good old cultural stuff, but mostly I'm looking forward to just having her out here! My friends from school are all really excited to meet her--apparently, she's a frequent talking topic of mine. I've prepared them for the change that will likely occur in me upon her arrival, namely that I will probably laugh louder and harder and be happier than they've seen me. They're bracing themselves for the incessant giggling.

Chris continues to be awesome. This past week, he took up a new hobby--he's been doing some 'leisure computer programming' (if there is such a thing. I think it all looks pretty difficult...). He whipped up a Yahtzee game that you can actually play! I was (and actually still am) really impressed. Add that to the list of things I love about him.

One more thing--at the end of the month, I'm travelling down to Lincoln, England to see Gaz! Gaz is a friend of mine from the summer camp we worked at 6-ish years ago. Ross (another friend from the same camp) and I are road-tripping from Edinburgh and spending the weekend down there. It's been about 3 or so years since I've seen Gaz, but I'm thinking that we'll just pick up where we left off. I am really, really excited to see him!
