So...yesterday, after a fantastic day at my counselling placement, I met up with a classmate and went to Tchai Ovna, which is this awesome tea place tucked away on some side street in Glasgow. I had Spice Master tea and then some Fairy's Blood, which is sooo fruity and red. Nearby is this incredible book store called Voltaire. It is basically two small rooms crammed from floor to ceiling with assorted, loosely organized books. The man who owns it sits behind a desk and writes down his sales in an old notebook. Needless to say, he does not take credit cards.
Anyway, outside Voltaire, three bikes were chained together and were leaning up against the wall. Amongst this trio was my new bike--an old Raleigh Pioneer, complete with mudguards and an awesome purple and white color scheme. After several inquiries, and after being told "Come back in a little while--the guy who sells them should be back at 5 (then "between 5 and 5:30", and finally "between 5:30 and 6")", I made contact with the man in charge of unlocking the bikes and asked him to liberate mine. I paid him £20 and wheeled the bike away. It was just that simple.
Anyway, it needs a little work and some love, most of which my fantastic classmate has agreed to give it (he's been nagging me to get a bike since, oh...October?), but I should be on the road by Thursday or Friday! Yay!
In other news, Chris and I are looking around for a new flat. We've decided that now that we're engaged, it's time for us to have a grown-up flat. It has come to my attention that I will probably end up being in Scotland for awhile longer, but who really thought I'd only stay out here for a year?
Beyond that, the future is sort of hazy. I'm alright with that. Things will sort themselves out.
Alright, I hope you're all having a great week! Miss you all.
