Someone in Minneapolis Loves Me

...and 2.99 million other people are completely indifferent to me. Ha!

Well hello. So, as we know, my parents are here. They delivered to me a Christmas present from my good friend Alison, which is a t-shirt that says 'Someone in Minneapolis Loves Me'.
I LOVE it! I am, in fact, wearing it right now.

I miss Alison. Alison, if you happen to be reading this, I miss you! It's funny, but I sort of have waves of missing people, I mean certain people, and I'm missing Alison quite a bit more than usual. She and I have been friends since Freshman year of college, and lived together in some capacity for 5 years. We got through some interesting times together in college, and she's just one of those steady, stable, creative, sweet people you want around you because she makes you see things in a different way, and kind of makes you want to be a better person. (Plus, she's got a killer sense of direction!) Before I moved out to Glasgow, she was so supportive and kind and understanding. Anyway, I miss her.

I hope my parents are having a good and somewhat relaxing time here, but the weather has been pretty uncooperative and I've been having to go to do my counselling and go to classes and all that. They seem to be OK. I'm hoping they'll give in to Scottish culture and drink enough to forget any bad times they may have. Kidding! ...sort of.

And as my final word, this morning, I walked to school with a little bounce in my step, knowing that Obama is my president and feeling happy again to be American.

Take care!

Aw! This post was so sweet! I have to tell you that Alison completely lit up when we saw that shirt and thought to send it to you. (And at least TWO people in MPLS love you.)

I just read my comment and I realized it looks as though I'm taking partial credit for the thought of sending you the best present of your life. However, all the credit goes to Alison! I am not good at ideas!

Kid-
We're officially going on record as having a wonderful time! We had plenty of interesting things to do and enough down time to make it really relaxing. Dad and I loved seeing you every day and having a chance to get to know Chris better and to meet his very fun family on your birthday. It's below zero again here, so it was warmer for us for a week at least! Have fun in Florence-we can't wait to hear about your adventures. We'll send pictures from our trip as soon as we get them downloaded-
