Well, hey! So, I just wanted to give you a quick update on my DJ-ing debut. It went really well and I have been asked back! People seemed happy with my selections and I had more than enough music to last the entire 3 hours. The pub was packed and it was, overall, just awesome. They also paid me £40 (and no, Dad, I'm NOT claiming that on my taxes).
The DJ name 'Toots the Loon' came from my friend from school. One day, he called me 'Toots' in class (which is also my dad's childhood nickname for me, oddly enough) and I said, "Wait...wait. Did you just call me 'toots'?" And it stuck, but only because I reacted so strongly to it. Also, he thought it was hilarious that we have state birds in the US, and that Minnesota's is the loon. And so, DJ Toots the Loon was born.
Anyway, so that's how that went. Also, Chris's parents happily agreed to meet my parents when they come to visit in January! Nice!
