I'm in Glasgow!

As the title of this post may suggest, I have arrived and settled in Glasgow. It's very nice to finally be here. As I went through customs in London, I wondered if I had, in fact, applied for the correct visa. It turns out I had!
During my travels, I met two other US students who were going to be studying in Scotland. One was going to be at the University of Edinburgh and the other was starting out a 5-year program at the University of Glasgow. It was interesting to talk to other people who were in my position--starting out school in a brand new country.
It's funny, although I've only spent a few weeks in Glasgow before this time, I feel right at home here. It was helpful to know where the nearest drug store, grocery store and doctor's offices were before settling in here. The weather is rainy, mostly, but that was expected. Chris has been taking excellent care of me and has been very helpful in getting me settled in here. The other day, we went on a little stroll around Glasgow, which helped me become even more familiar with where I am in relation to the important things in my new life. Today, he took me to get a new phone! For those of you who need it, you'll have my new phone number soon.
In any case, I am happy and comfortable here, and although I miss you all a lot, I'm so excited for what's happening now!
Take care. xoxo
