A Few Things...

Thing One: I had a nice weekend visiting Chris's family. We went up on Friday to visit his sister, Alison, who is extremely funny, and her boyfriend, Martin, who is fantastic and has a great London accent. On Saturday, we managed to get up to St. Andrews to take their grandmother (the one from my gin story) out to lunch. Afterwards, Chris and I continued on to Montrose, where his parents live. We went out to dinner and then out to a pub for a pint that night. On Sunday, we all took a stroll down by the North Sea and then Chris and I made Shepard's Pie for dinner. His dad said the mashed potatoes I made were perfect. Go America.
Then Chris and I went through a lot of his belongings from his parent's house and decided what we would take home with us. During this time, we found a bunch of those Mr. Nosey, Mr. Tall, Mr. Noisey, etc. books and spent about an hour reading them aloud in funny voices with plot twists we made up and almost peeing ourselves. It was awesome, but maybe you had to be there.

Thing Two: I haven't gone a single day since I've been here without having a drink. There are days that go by where I drink more beer than water (this is not a complaint, but merely an observation).

Thing Three: The election is a common topic here. BTW, EVERYONE wants Obama to win, and EVERYONE thinks Palin is an idiot. I have found my people.

Thing Four: There is this show here called Come Dine With Me that I LOVE, although I don't know why. The show follows 5 ordinary people as they each host a dinner party for each other. They don't know one another before this, and they rate each other at the end of each dinner party. It's brilliant--they sit around and complain that the marinade on the lamb shanks was too citrus-y or that the crust on the cheesecake was too soft and then randomly rate each other out of 10 possible points. The winner gets £1000. It's funny, but then again, refer back to Thing Two.

That's it for me.
Miss you all!
