Jet Lag and Moonshine

Hey everyone!

Sooo...I've been in Minnesota since Thursday afternoon. It feels like I've never left AND that I've been away forever, all in one! I got to drive for the first time, which was something I had been oddly nervous about before I got here, and it has been just fine. I've even managed to stay on the right side of the road at all times, much to my mother's approval.

On Friday I went over to my friend Meg's house. She was leaving the next day to go work on a cruise ship, so it was really lucky that our time in Minnesota overlapped at all! On Saturday, my mom and I went on a run together. It was easy to tell who had been keeping up with their running (my mom) and who had not (me). That night, I met up with Alison for tea at Curry Up(!) and then we headed over to our friend Kate's place for a dinner/drinks/music party. It was awesome to see my friends again, including but not limited to Ken, who provided real, live moonshine from Jamaica, and then clapped extra loudly for me. Sigh...I've missed his clapping. I also met some nice new people AND had the pleasure of meeting one of the pit bulls rescued during the whole Michael Vick dogfighting debacle.

Today, my parents and I went to the Minneapolis Institute of Art, then out to dinner at the Good Earth, which is one of my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis. Tomorrow, I'm going to the last ever Twins home opener in the Metrodome (because they'll play in the new stadium next season...boooooo!). I could not be more excited!!

On another note, I really wish Chris was here. I miss him (BLARG!). And yes, I understand how sappy that is, and no, I don't care. It would just be fun to have him around.
That's the bitch of this whole thing, isn't it? I'm always missing someone! On the other hand, how lucky am I to have wonderful people in my life to miss?

Alright, well...if you need to get in touch with me, go ahead and call my parents. You don't have their number? Call someone and ask them. You say you don't know anyone who might know me well enough to have my parents number? Then you are probably a stranger who has just stumbled upon this blog, and it would be kind of creepy of you to want to hang out with me. But thanks for reading it anyway!

Bye!
xo
